Your Rights Under Irish Consumer Law
Under the European Union (Consumer Information, Cancellation and Other Rights) Regulations 2013 and the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act 1980, which apply in Ireland, you have certain rights as a consumer. This policy outlines how we handle returns and refunds in accordance with Irish law.
Cancellation Rights (Distance Sales)
If you purchased our paper products online or by phone (distance sales), you have the right to cancel your order within 14 calendar days from the day after you receive the goods, without giving any reason. This is your statutory right under Irish and EU law.
Return Eligibility
We accept returns of paper products under the following conditions:
- Items must be returned within 14 calendar days from the day after delivery (for distance sales)
- Products must be in their original, unused condition and resalable
- Items must be in their original packaging when applicable
- You must inform us of your decision to cancel within the 14-day period
- Custom or personalised items made to your specifications cannot be returned unless defective (see below)
Return Process
To exercise your right to cancel and return items, please follow these steps:
- Email us at callme@craftedflamecraf.world with your order details and cancellation request
- Include your order number and clearly state your wish to cancel the order
- We will acknowledge your cancellation and provide return instructions and address
- Return items to us within 14 days of informing us of your cancellation
- Pack the items securely for return shipment
You can use our cancellation form template, though it's not required. Simply sending us an email with your cancellation request is sufficient.
Refund Processing
Once we receive your returned items, we will process your refund in accordance with Irish consumer law:
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 14 days of receiving the returned goods, or within 14 days of receiving proof that you have returned the goods, whichever is earlier
- If you cancel before receiving the goods, we will refund you within 14 days of receiving your cancellation notice
- We will refund all payments received from you, including standard delivery costs
- You are responsible for the direct cost of returning goods to us, unless we have agreed otherwise or the goods are defective
- If goods are damaged or diminished in value due to unnecessary handling beyond what is needed to establish their nature and function, we may deduct an amount from your refund
Damaged or Defective Products
Under the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act 1980, goods must be of merchantable quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If you receive a damaged or defective paper product, please contact us immediately:
- Take photos of the damage or defect
- Contact us as soon as possible after delivery
- We will arrange for a replacement, repair, or full refund at your choice
- Return shipping for damaged or defective items will be covered by us
- If the product is defective, your rights are not limited to the 14-day cancellation period
Under Irish law, you have up to six years to bring a claim for defective goods, though you must prove the defect existed at the time of sale.
Custom and Personalised Orders
Customized or personalised paper products made to your specifications are exempt from the 14-day cancellation right, as they are made to your specifications or clearly personalised. However:
- Custom items can still be returned if defective or not as described
- Please review all customisation details carefully before confirming your order
- We will work with you to correct any errors in custom orders
- If we make a production error, we will provide a replacement or full refund at no cost to you
- You will receive a confirmation of your custom order details before production begins
Exchanges
We currently do not offer direct exchanges. If you wish to exchange an item, please return the original item for a refund and place a new order for the desired product.
Non-Returnable Items
The following items are not eligible for return:
- Custom or personalized items (unless defective)
- Items damaged by misuse or normal wear
- Items returned after the 14-day return period
- Items without proof of purchase
Consumer Responsibility
Please ensure returned items are properly packaged to prevent damage during return shipment. Under Irish consumer law, you are liable for any diminished value of goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics, and functioning.
We are not responsible for items lost during return shipment, so we recommend using a tracked delivery service. If you prefer, we can arrange collection at your cost.
